Day Before pt. 1 (Assuming there will be a part 2)
How does everyone know that it is the day before your vacation day? My phone usually rings very often throughout the work day, but today...non-stop. With everything possible...I can't call here...I can't call there...is this done...can you run this report...can you run that report...I think I recused someone from a nervous breakdown when I explained to them today isn't the last Thursday of the month (Long Story).
I'm looking forward to being off tomorrow, eventhough I was home sick Monday...it's different when its scheduled as a vacation day. I plan to spend the 1st half of the day in the comforts of my bed. The 2nd half will be down in the Illadelph...visiting mom dukes...but it be like a work day...got to fix her pc.
I plan to get some recording done...I just realized I have spoken too much about music lately. I've been plugging away at 3 projects on the low.
Project #1: I'm working on another instrumental CD...this one is more on the jazz/trip-hop type vibe. Probably the type of stuff you would hear Portishead rock. Basically it ain't meant for everyone...trying some experimentation, minus the chaps and drastic name changes like Dre 3000. (Everything in moderation).
Project #2: The lil Mixtape that could. This project has been moving very methodically...at the blazing speed of a blind and crippled snail. I had put out an open call on Craigslist. Maybe a little to soon...cause I know the concept of the mixtape that I want to use...and part of me really doesn't want to have to weed through the mire to find what I really want. I had planned to use my own tracks as well. So far counting myself I have 4 emcees on board, with tracks in their hands...yet only 2 are ready to record after having the material for damn near three months. And we're only talking about 2 a piece. Then out of the 2 that are ready...one has been having about as good of a year that I'm having so far. At last count his car has been broken into 3 times...and he's been jumped once. Talk about karma...maybe I need to meditate on his behalf...cause we set once again another tenative date to record his tracks...crossing fingers and toes...and saying a prayer with a few hail mary's.
Project #3: Putting together my own EP...that has been getting tossed to the back burner for a loooooooooooooooooooong as time...I finally have some material I want to run with...and well see what happens.
*Getting back to work...well more like going to lunch*
